The Clarksville Ruritans, who have given the Players thousands of dollars over the years, have recently offered us a matching grant of $10,000. In other words, if we raise $10,000 in donations, the Ruritans will match every dollar we raise - bringing the grant total to $20,000!
All donations towards the Preservation Fund will be counted towards the Ruritans' matching grant (unless specifically designated otherwise by the donor). Check donations should be made out to "the Clarksville Community Players" or "CCP" with "Matching Grant" in the memo line.
Thanks to the generosity of the Cabell Foundation, the Clarksville Community Players have recently been awarded a $100,000 matching grant to aid in the construction of a new men's restroom and much needed improvements to the box office/administrative office area to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities. This matching grant, combined with the matching grant from the Ruritans, will bring us to a total of $220,000 - fully funding our much-needed final renovations!
Our lobby is currently filled with BEAUTIFUL artwork by Sarah Bolduc, JJ Doyle, Julie Drohan, Helen Massingill, Betty McKinney, and Marilyn E. Rea. These incredible artists are generously donating a percentage of each piece of artwork purchased in the lobby to go towards our Preservation Fund. Stop by during office hours to take a look or text 919.909.1011 to schedule a separate viewing time outside of office hours!
Looking to represent the Clarksville Community Players around town? Swing by the office and ask about our merchandise! We currently offer bumper stickers, smaller laptop/water bottle stickers, and "The Heart of Our Town" Brass Seat Tag Keychains!
"THE HEART OF OUR TOWN" CAPITAL CAMPAIGN will renovate and preserve our iconic and beloved Clarksville Fine Arts Center (CFAC). A center piece of our town, the CFAF promotes and encourages artistic expression.
The players have undertaken this campaign to restore and convert the existing building to a state of the art visual and performing arts center. The current need for renovations and infrastructure upgrades will run $2 million. However; this building is over 80 years old. We cannot wait for a time in the future. We must act now.
This is the time to make your mark, to be a part of something greater. Leave a lasting legacy in YOUR town. Your contribution to this campaign will ensure that this iconic structure will continue to serve Clarksville. Please help us keep the Heart of Clarksville and the arts alive and thriving.
In appreciation,
Charlie Simmons and Ken Morgan
